Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry brand was born from a love story. The journey began with the marriage of two jewelry lovers, Alfred Van Cleef and Estelle Arpels. Alfred’s father was a diamond dealer and Estelle’s father was a gem dealer. The two married in 1895 and went into business in 1906, establishing their own brand on Place Vendôme in Paris (next to the famous Ritz Hotel). The location is symbolic as it is home to many luxury homes.
Over the next decade or so, the brand continued to open stores across France, in places like Nice, Lyon, and Cannes.
